International Retirement Migration: Social and Economic Implications on Thailand
In recent years, Thailand has become an attractive destination for international retirement migration. This trend has a potential for Thai economic development but its impacts on Thai society— the distribution of economic benefit, the allocation of care and health care services, and social mobility for local care workers—need to be better understood to inform future policy.
Dr Sirijit Sunanta was awarded in February 2017 a Researcher Links Travel Grants to develop a full research proposal on the subject.
